Monday, 11th March : Teams arrive in Christchurch and book into accommodation. A good range of excellent accommodation options has been prepared for the Carnival. Full details of packages will soon be available on this website. Late afternoon Managers Meeting at venue to be advised. Evening Welcome Function at Nga Hau E Wha National Marae. Teams will be transferred per coach to the Mainland Foundation Ballpark for pre-dinner drinks and team photographs. After the initial Welcome teams will walk to the neighbouring Marae for further celebrations including a Hangi meal accompanied by juices and soft drinks. After the function teams will be transferred back to their accommodation.
Tuesday, 12th March: Teams will transfer to Canterbury Softball Association complex at Mainland Foundation Ballpark for the 1st day of games. All teams will play 2 games in their selected grades and age groups and these games will be used to check gradings and ensure teams are evenly matched. Full facilities will be available at the complex with food and refreshments available all day. At the conclusion of the days play teams will transfer back to their accommodation for a relaxed evening in Christchurch including the Vintage Softball Big Night Out at a local Tui hosted bar.
Wednesday, 13th March: Teams will again transfer to Canterbury Softball Association for a further 3 games in their sections based on age, ability and the previous days results. Full facilities will be available at the complex with food and refreshments available all day. At the conclusion of the days play teams will transfer back to their accommodation for a relaxed evening in Christchurch.
Thursday, 14th March: A day of leisure with optional tours offered including Whale Watching at Kaikoura; Akaroa Excursion to the delightful seaside village on the Banks Peninsular; or travel to Hamner Springs-a wonderful spa village in the foothills of the Southern Alps or just stay and relax in beautiful Christchurch-a delightful city with plenty of attractions, great gardens, brilliant restaurants and relaxed bars.
Friday, 15th March: Third day of play with all teams playing 3 games and all arrangements as for Tuesday. At the conclusion of the day teams will transfer back to their accommodation for a relaxed evening in Christchurch.
Saturday, 16th March: The fourth day of play will feature Finals in each section with each team playing one game and sorting out their finishing place in their particular section. At end of the days play Canterbury Softball Association will host a fabulous Hoe Down featuring a spit roast and selection of meats, chicken, salads and an open bar for beer, wine and juices and a cash bar for spirits. During the evening prizes and trophies will be presented and guests will be entertained by a great country band.
Sunday, 17th March: Teams depart for their journey home or head off to do additional touring and sightseeing in the South Island.
